  • 2009: A History of Computing at UNC-Chapel Hill from 1959, prepared by Diana Woodhouse, Web Applications Developer,Technology & Systems Support, Division of Student Affairs, from photos on this site for the 2009 IT Awards banquet.
  • 2008 April 10: Paul Jones, TriLUG meeting: "5 big ideas of ibiblio, 3 laws of ibiblio" (about 90 minutes). The meeting announcement.
  • 2006 May 30: Dan Reed, Director, Renaissance Computing Institute, Computing the Future: Release 2016, "How will the next 10 years of technology innovations impact business, education, scientific discovery and everyday life? Dan Reed outlines some possible futures and the challenges we must face to make them reality." The slide presentation is attached, below, as a .pdf file.
  • 1992 December: Campus-Wide Information Systems, Judy Hallman, AARNET conference, Brisbane, Australia — Video Part A and Video Part B, about 30 minutes each — demonstration using precursors of gopher and World Wide Web. At end, World Wide Web, Free-Nets, Youngstown Free-Net.
  • Video "Computing at Carolina 1960-1990" was made for the 30th anniversary celebration. This tape will be put online. There's a description of this video in a Newsbrief article attached below.
  • Video "The Future from the Past, Computing at Carolina 1959-1984" was made for the 1984 Computer Fair. If you have a copy, please contact Judy Hallman, hallman@email.unc.edu. We'd like to put a copy online.
  • A video was made of a film made by WUNC-TV in 1961: a tour of the Computation Center with its director John W. Carr, III. There's more description information in a Newsbrief article ("Big" Computers 1961 and 1988) attached below. Both the orginal film and the videotape copy have disappeared.
