A non-exhaustive list of other documents in my development queue include: - Debian Kernel HOWTO - how to compile kernels under Debian, with an emphasis on adding kernel patches. (The international crypto patches, LVM, freeswan, etc.) Progress is uncertain since the next release of Debian should include a formalization of this process... but this formalization breaks my current system! Still, it's unclear when "woody" will be released, it serves a definite need (this doc started as my notes to myself),... - SOHO HOWTO (aka "system administration for travel agents") - how to set up various services for the first time, and why you want to do it this way. This is not intended to replace the existing HOWTOs, but to provide context. E.g., "set up a central printer server, even if you're printing to your own printer, because it makes it much easier to redirect printer queues if necessary because of hardware problem." I'm currently encountering difficulties because of the changes introduced by Windows ME. That OS *really* does not want to be part of a network environment, but it's what's shipping on most new systems. - Linux PKI HOWTO - an attempt to enumerate all of the packages that use PKI, how to turn enable it, where they keep their keys, and what format they expect. The lines between this line and the next one keep getting blurry - Linux CA HOWTO - a description of the OpenSSL CA, why you don't want be a "real" CA, but how you can and should use it internally. Finally, I'll be releasing an updated Debian TT Fonts HOWTO sometime soon - I'm changing ISPs and need to update my address, as well as incorporating various notes contributed by readers. -- Bear Giles bgiles@coyotesong.com
