N.C. Cooperative Extension Service (Box 7605, N.C. State University, Raleigh 27695; 919/515-2770): The Master Waste Manager Program trains volunteers to provide public education and outreach on waste management and waste reduction for rural communities. Training is done throu gh county extension service centers by county extension agents and professionals in waste management and recycling industries.

County and municipal solid waste, recycling, or public works departments: Provide information on p rograms within their jurisdictions and other programs nearby.

N.C. Department of Environment, Health, and Natural Resources:

Orange Regional Recycling Program (306 N. Columbia St., Chapel Hill 27516; 919/968-2788): Published "On the Job Recycling," a brochure outlining how to establish a recycling program at the workplace.

N.C. Recycling Association (P.O. Box 25368, Raleigh 27611; 919/851-8444): Publishes a Membership Directory which lists contact information and brief des criptions of member organizations and individuals. Many members are recycling program planners/coordinators and serve as helpful resources for advice.

PUBLICATIONS:

PaperMatcher: A Directory of Paper Recycling Resources. Published by American Forest and Paper Association (1250 Connecticut Ave. N W, 2nd Floor, Washington, DC 20036; 800/878-8878). Contains contact information for paper and paperboard mills consuming waste paper, waste paper dealers, and recycling centers. Between editions at the time of this printing but available at some local re cycling departments.
