SARATOGA TO MAKE THIRD QUICK SHUTTLE TRIP TO MAINLAND WITH SEPARATEES
The aircraft carrier USS Saratoga is scheduled to return to Pearl Harbor Monday, 8 October, for another load of approximately 3,800 high point veterans eligible for return to the mainland for discharge.
Operating as a unit of Rear Admiral Henry S. Kendall's "magic carpet" Task Group 16.12, the Saratoga will be starting her third round-trip to the West Coast with returning service men.
The carrier is expected to be loaded and on her way back to San Francisco with the separatees 24 hours after her arrival at Oahu.
