Kanggu Hang, South Korea

"With ten rounds of 8-inch HC, USS Helena drops two spans of bridge at Kanggu Hang, 23 miles north of Pohang."
"View looks southeast and downstream; the river mouth is a mile beyond bridge. 9 September 1950"

Note: The caption above is quoted from Field's History of United States Naval Operations -- Korea, page 186. Original captions for this series (80-G-422471 -- 422474) vary, with some identifying the ship as Rochester (CA-124) and the date as 8 November 1950, with the same location. The November date makes no sense for this location, as Kanggu Hang was by then hundreds of miles south of the combat zone.
