Admiral Graf Spee
(German Armored Ship, 1936)

Photograph of the ship's forward broadside (15cm gun) director, with a USS Helena crew member sitting on it. View looks aft, with the forward superstructure in the background. The director has partially collapsed to starboard. The sketch below shows the director's arrangement, extending down to the main deck.
Taken on board Admiral Graf Spee's wreck in the River Plate, near Montevideo, Uruguay, where she had been scuttled in December 1939.
