Naval Action on Lake Ontario, 10 August 1813

"A view of the night action of one hour and 43 minutes between part of the U. States fleet under command of Comodore Isaac Chauncey, and the British fleet commanded by Sir James Yeo, on Lake Ontario the 10th of August 1813".
Color-tinted drawing by Masters Mate Peter W. Spicer, who served on board USS Oneida during this action.
U.S. vessels depicted include:
1. General Pike (28 guns);
2. Madison (24 guns);
3. Oneida (16 guns);
4. Governor Tompkins (6 guns);
5. Fair American (3 guns);
6. Ontario (2 guns);
7. Pert (3 guns);
8. Conquest (3 guns);
9. Asp (2 guns);
10. Julia (2 guns); and
11. Growler (2 guns).
British vessels depicted include:
1. General Wolfe (21 guns);
2. Royal George (22 guns);
3. Lord Berusford (brig, 14 guns);
4. Earl of Moria (14 guns);
5. Prince Regent (16 guns); and
6. Sir Sydney Smith (schooner, 12 guns).
The British fleet is shown sailing between the parts of the American fleet.
