"Submarine Rescue Vessel (A.S.R.) - Design Study "A""


Preliminary design plan prepared for the General Board during the process that produced the Chanticleer (ASR-7) class.
This plan, dated 17 October 1940, depicts a 1575-ton (light displacement) 240-foot (between perpendiculars) design of about the same size as that actually adopted.
Scale of the original drawings is 1/16" = 1'.

The original plan is in the 1939-1944 "Spring Styles Book" held by the Naval Historical Center.
