"20 Knot Oiler - Preliminary Study"
Preliminary design plan prepared for the General Board as part
of a study of high speed oilers.
This drawing, dated 21 March 1942, is for a 28,000-ton (displacement)
ship with a length (between perpendiculars) of 600 feet, capable
of carrying a cargo of 13,000 tons of oil at a sustained speed
of 20 knots.
Scale of the original drawing is 1/32" = 1'.
The original plan is in the 1939-1944 "Spring Styles Book"
held by the Naval Historical Center.
