Voyager (American Motor Boat).
Served as USS Voyager (SP-361) in 1917-1919

Voyager, an 52-foot motor boat, was built prior to World War I at Bay City, Michigan, for use as a pleasure craft. She was acquired by the Navy in July 1917 and placed in commission as USS Voyager (SP-361). During the remainder of the 1917 Great Lakes shipping season she was employed at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, patrolling the approaches to the locks between Lake Huron and Lake Superior. Transferred to Detroit, Michigan, and laid up through the winter season, Voyager returned to "the Soo" in May 1918 and resumed her patrol work. She was decommissioned in May 1919. Transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard at that time, she remained in service on the Great Lakes, under the names Voyager and AB-18, until about 1936.

This page features the only views we have of the motor boat Voyager, which was USS Voyager (SP-361) in 1917-1919.
