Concrete Barge # 442, 1918-1923.
Later renamed Coal Barge # 442 and YC-442

Concrete Barge # 442, a 922-ton (displacement) non-self-propelled barge with a reinforced concrete hull, was built at Verplank, New York, in 1918. After entering service late in that year she was renamed Coal Barge # 442 and, in 1920, YC-442. She appears to have sunk sometime prior to mid-September 1923, when she was stricken from the list of Naval vessels.

This page features the only view we have concerning U.S. Navy Concrete Barge # 442, which was later named Coal Barge # 442 and YC-442.
