USS Herreshoff # 306 (SP-1841), 1918-1922

USS Herreshoff # 306 was one of a small group of 60-ton patrol craft built at Bristol, Rhode Island, in 1917 for private owners, with the understanding that they would be made available for Naval service. She was later purchased by the Navy and placed in commission in February 1918. In May, Herreshoff # 306 went to the Panama Canal Zone for harbor patrol service, remaining in the area following the end of World War I. She was loaned to the War Department in October 1920, returned to the Navy in March 1921 and sold in December 1922.

This page features our only views of USS Herreshoff # 306.
