Re: WTB: Farm Equipment
William,
I agree with your sentiments regarding Manfred's post.
I'd like to point Manfred in the direction of a website that explains
what sustainable agriculture _really_ is and where to get tools to
promote feasible change. Perhaps we can affect his knowledge regarding
large-scale animal slaughter, land abuse, and long-term
combustion-engine-reliant commune farming. A good place I found is the
Permaculture International Homepage
<http://www.nor.com.au/environment/perma/> in Australia.
Manfred,
Consider e-correspondence with some of the community representatives you
will find in the above website and weblinks about land stewardship
practices. I propose that your situation of not having large machinery
immediately at hand gives you a unique opportunity to try out
sustainable methods first. You could put your collective on the
forefront of land stewardship development in your country. Heck, it's a
lot less expensive than buying tons of metal, petroleum distillates and
other chemicals. It might not be what you expect, but you won't regret
it. Cheers.
Best Regards,
Chris
