Subject: New State Fact Sheets
November 1, 1994
The Economics Research Service of USDA in Washington, DC, is
pleased to announce an update to our:
STATE FACT SHEETS
We have updated our State Fact Sheets with new information on
population, farm employment, farm income and financial, poverty,
and commodities. And, by popular request, we have included a
Fact Sheet for the United States. You can get our State Fact
Sheets either from our AutoFAX machine or from our Internet/Bitnet
LISTSERV. Our tests of the electronic State Fact Sheets were very
successful. Below, you will find the README or HELP document that
can be found with the State Fact Sheets. If you need any help or
if you have questions, be sure to call our Contact People listed
below.
You will notice that we only have new 1992 Census of Agriculture
data for 22 states. More data will be in, hopefully, by the end
of November. When it comes in, we will update the State Facts
Sheets with new data.
******************************************************************
The State Fact Sheets provide the most recently available farm and
rural data compiled by the ECONOMIC RESEARCH SERVICE, USDA. The
State Fact Sheets provide 2 pages of facts for each state and also
a summary fact sheet for the United States. Included are data on
population, jobs, income and poverty, and farms. The data comes
>from a variety of sources including the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Bureau of the Census, and ERS.
The information is updated as new data becomes available.
The Fact Sheets can be obtained from our easy to retrieve AutoFAX
Machine or from Internet/Bitnet. If you have any questions about
this service or the data, please contact either:
