If there are any berries left at this time, I would propose this 
"test":

Find a berry barely ripe (just turning from red to black):

Pick it (rather than a direct pull, I would say a kind of 
rolling/tearing motion):
If it leaves a core, even if difficult, then its a raspberry
If the berry comes off w/ core then its a blackberry
If the stem comes w/ the berry, inconclusive, berry was probably too 
green.
