Re: [nafex] How best to germinate Cornus mas pits
I got my best results from double-stratified seed. I stratified it once,
planted it, none grew. I held the flat over until the second spring in an
unheated greenhouse where it was stratified again. The second spring it all
germinated. It also seems to speed it up a bit if you take a sharp knife
and carefully split the seed - there is a suture line on it where you can
split the seed, and if you do this you get two plants, since the seed is
actually a double.
