[nafex] prunus nigra, americana, canadian

Was just out picking wild plums. The fruits are red with yellow patches or
streaks, 3/4" dia., fairly bland flavor, not too sour, even sweet if well
ripened. The leaf margins and petiole nodes match the above url's p. nigra
description. And the region matches. I always presumed we had p.americana.
So I just went into our fledgling orchard and took a couple p. americana
leaves....same petiole nodes, leaf margins same toothed pattern but somewhat
sharper.
In the above url's description	they mention chokecherry etc. for similar
plants but not americana...could nigra and americana be one and the same?
