I have a small hoop house I use to cover salad crops.  It keeps things
growing down into the teens.  But, you have to be careful about heat buildup
during sunny days.  I generally open one end or tip up the frame on one side
to vent.  It's smart to have a thermometer under the house, too, as you
have.  Good luck!
