Jonafree is my favorite pie apple

Slices hold their shape. Good tartness to serve as a foil for the
sugar and crust (I like crumble type topping (butter, oatmeal, flour,
brown sugar, cinnamon.))  Good apple aroma.  Slight oxidization... I
don't like ghostly pale apple pie.

And the tree is an easy grow, even if it has a tendancy toward
biennial bearing.
