[SANET-MG] social change weekend

Social Change Weekend Workshop
Sciencing with Love
April 22-24
Dr. Mae-Wan Ho
Dr. Mae-Wan Ho is a biophysicist at the forefront of a sweeping movement
to define a
different kind of science and to realign the way science is applied both
in society and in the
personal search for meaning. She has pioneered a "physics of organisms"
and is one of the
best known and respected critics of genetic engineering. She is also
actively promoting a
deeper public understanding and use of science.
The purpose of this workshop is to have students experience another kind
of science, one that
lets us view and know nature as being truly alive and whole, a science
with the potential to
change society through changing the quality and meaning of one's own life.
Dr. Ho is Director, Institute for Science in Society (ISIS), London and
editor of the magazine
Science in Society.
