Re: [SANET-MG] [Spam?] [SANET-MG] Cummins correction

Hi Shane,
Your paper and abstract failed to mention that you are a government bureaucrat dealing with the promotion of GM foods. There was no apparent disclaimer in your article where you acknowledge your government function. Clearly as a bureaucrat you appear to promote government positions but seem to masquerade as a private individual. Surely the editors of Trends in Biotechnology must have known that you are a government public relations person and published the report knowing that it was government public relations effort but pretended it was something from a real scientist in genetic engineering! Unfortunately the government of Canada seems to prefer to conduct its promotion of gm crops by subterfuge, you know that you and the editor of Trends in Genetics should have told the world that you are a government public relations guy not a real genetic engineer! Your personal attack on me claims there has been a disclaimer in the abstract of the journal article, bu t there is no indication that you are a government bureaucrat that can be found in the article.Others in the Canadian bureaucracy such as *Shiv Chopra *were persecuted by the government for expressing views about biotechnology that were not liked by the senior bureaucrats.and that must mean that you are the senior bureaucrats little darling. That was just what I was trying to say. As a Canadian bureaucrat and public relations person you should really have admitted that you serve your bureaucratic masters. Unfortunately, that is the way that Canada deals with genetically modified crops, secrecy in testing and marketing the crops while using unfortunate methods to put there views out to the world. Do I fear dirty tricks from the government for uncovering the manner in which they promote gm crops, you bet I do! So Shane , be a good lad and admit that you are a government public relations person.sincerely, joe cummins

Dear all,

On Wed, 22 Nov 2006, Mr. Cummins attempted to make the claim that a recent paper of mine (available at http://tinyurl.com/ydasvh) reflected a government opinion: "bureaucrat authoring the government opinion" http://lists.ifas.ufl.edu/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind0611&L=sanet-mg&T=0&P=12900
This claim is false and misleading.

In a 'spin' and misinformation style that is common to Mr. Cummins he selected to leave out the clear disclaimer attached to the abstract in an attempt to mislead.

This posting corrects this and provides the information selectively left out in Mr. Cummins's posting.....

Thank you
