If used in high concentrations it will, but, in diluted form, it can be
applied to the ground or as a foliar spray and many plants particularly
those belonging to the C4 group, will use it as a carbon source, when they
would other wise be unable to up take CO2 on days when the heat has caused
them to close the stoma.
