I agree, one person, taking a few handfuls, no problem, especially if no one
else was doing it.

But all the sustainable growers in the country taking even a few percents of
the nearest forest floor per year? There's a problem.

Even if every grower in the US took just a handful of forest soil, each year,
to inoculate their compost, we'd still have a serious impact on our forests
in just a few years.

Even if you "replace" the forest soil, it's not the same as soil that has had
years to develop. Forests will be harmed.

So, let's not advocate taking forest soil as a routine thing, all right?
Once in a lifetime, ok. But not more than that.
