What about cured alfalfa hay? It's cut green but allowed to dry in the field before baling.

The browns, correct me if I'm wrong, support the fungi. And Hay, I learned
at the ICTC meeting, if cut green is a 'green' not a brown, even tho it
appears brown; it still holds the sugars from when it was cut. Straw, on
the other hand was cut brown - the sugars left the stalk, so it is a brown.
Interesting concept, but makes total sense after you think about it.

Re. mulch composition to mimic tea critter dominance. Correct me if I'm
wrong:

straw, hay supports protozoa dominance

wood-based compost/mulch supports fungi dominance

vermicompost supports fungal and protozoa dominance

what mulches/composts are dominated by bacteria?

IMHO spraying or drenching tea on mulch works just fine. The beneficials
in the tea do great in mulch, especially if it is the kind that fosters the
same dominance as is in the tea. Worms pull the mulch into the soil,
deposit some of it in their dens etc. The soil foodweb will distribute
your tea!
