SUSTAINABLE FOOD SYSTEM/AGRICULTURE
INTERNSHIPS

Holcomb Farm Organic CSA in Granby, CT seeks interns for the 1998 growing
season. The 16-acre CSA grows over 50 types of vegetables, flowers and
herbs and markets directly to both suburban households and to
organizations which serve low-income Hartford residents. While the farm's
focus is production, we are also involved in educational and community
building programs. There will be opportunities to work with/educate
visiting groups of all ages. Interns will get to spend 50-60 hours of
their week involved in all aspects of organic production, including
planting, cultivation, harvesting and distributing. A passion for growing
vegetables, a strong work ethic, mechanical inclination, and a good sense
of humor desirable.
Positions offered May-June to Sept/Oct.
Pay $150-250/week, assistance with housing possible, fresh
