Michael Ableman Talk to Promote Phila. City Farming



On Tuesday, February 2, 1999, at 3 p.m. Michael Ableman, author of ON GOOD
LAND - THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF AN URBAN FARM, will show slides and discuss his
successes and failures in building a community farm. The presentation and
book signing will be held in the auditorium of The Pennsylvania
Horticultural Society, 100 North 20th Street -5th Floor, Philadelphia.
Admission is free.

This event is hosted by The Inner City Growers Association, a new
Philadelphia-based organization working on practical ways to further
commercial urban agriculture.

Also from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd, Mr. Ableman will be the honored
guest at The Inner City Growers benefit reception at Jack's Firehouse
Restaurant, 2130 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia. Tickets are $15 reserved
in advance.
