Bird Park
In observance of our garden varieties ...
Baltimore Bird Park is Flora's informal proposal that
a bird sanctuary be established along Baltimore's Middle Branch
waterfront below Oriole Park & Raven Park. Unaffiliated
with the Baltimore
Bird Club, a chapter of the Maryland
Ornithological Society.
[Days after the above was written, Baltimore's The Sun
reported on June 29, 1996:
Local architects are reviving a plan to extend
the Ravens stadium site to the south -- creating a second
downtown waterfront that could offer stadium water
views, fountains and museums to draw people year-round.
The plan would require purchase of a largely industrial
site dotted with old, mostly empty brick warehouses and
the city animal shelter. The architects, who drew the
ideas from earlier stadium studies, visualize exhibits,
entertainment and sports-related attraction] ...
