Position vacancy: Outreach Specialist
Program on Agricultural Technology Studies

The Program on Agricultural Technology Studies, a joint program of
the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Rural Sociology and
Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, has an opening for
an outreach specialist.
An M.A. or M.S. in a social science discipline related to
agriculture, or an M.A. or M.S. in agricultural science with
experience or training in social science, is required; a Ph.D. is
preferred.
Principal duties:
--play a lead role with other PATS Extension/outreach staff in
conceptualizing and designing the program's Cooperative Extension and
outreach programs;
--develop an educational program on issues relating to technology,
sustainability, and farm structure to be aimed at county and
campus-based Extension faculty, farm organizations, public interest
groups, and other groups interested in Wisconsin agriculture;
--collaborate with other PATS staff in conducting applied research
on technology and farm structure issues in Wisconsin.
This is a 75 to 100 percent time position; salary range $27,788 -
$41,682.
