NEBRASKA

POSITION:	Extension Educator.  This is a grant-funded, full time position
with University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension serving as On-farm
Research Coordinator for the Integrated Farming Systems project
headquartered in Hartington, NE. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:	Represent Cooperative Extension staff on the Nebraska
IMPACT Project, a cooperative program between Cooperative Extension,
Nebraska Sustainable Agriculture Society and Center for Rural Affairs.
Engage staff and research faculty in providing organizational support and
responding to research needs identified by IMPACT group participants.
Establish linkages with groups or organizations that may enhance the scope
of IMPACT.  Write summary reports, publicize project, and group
achievements.  Provide direct assistance to IMPACT groups in on-farm
research and demonstration, interpreting and publishing results, organizing
tours and field days, and planning activities.

Pursue grant funding to continue the IMPACT project beyond two years.
Evaluate IMPACT project programs. 

QUALIFICATIONS:	Master's degree required.  One degree must be in
agriculture.  Direct experience working with agricultural producers and
on-farm research desirable.  Demonstrated interest in Integrated Farming
systems and Sustainable Agriculture, and the ability to use statistical
analysis techniques in research.  Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to
work with diverse clientele, willingness to travel throughout Nebraska,
writing proficiency and good oral communications are essential.  Grant
writing ability necessary to acquire funds to continue program.

SALARY:	This is a grant-funded position with funding for approximately two
years.  Continuation of the position is dependent upon success in securing
additional grant funds.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and
training expected for entry level, generally $27,000.
