For Immediate Release

"Walking Tractors" Offer Gardeners an Economical Way to Increase Productivity

If today you garden successfully in a small way and are considering how to
manage a much bigger garden for at home use, a walking tractor may be right
for you.

Your big home garden is producing far more than you need at home and you
have begun to sell off excess produce, it is profitable and now you want to
expand production and perhaps diversify crops. To make that possible you
need to mechanize but may not need a four wheel tractor. A walking tractor
may be just what you need to strike the right balance of size, power and
flexibility.

Eugene Canales, founder of Ferrari Tractor CIE and a columnist for
"BIODYNAMICS: Farming and Gardening in the 21st Century" magazine, will
present a discussion of walking tractors, their history, development and
applications to market gardening and farming in USA and Europe. The many
implements that make walking tractors a valuable alternative will be
illustrated and described. As an adjunct to this formal presentation there
will be a display of machines and implements provided by a BCS distributor
who handles a line of walking tractors for the West Virginia area.

There is no charge for this lecture/workshop, which is part of the 1997
Biodynamic Farming and Gardening Conference, Oct 3-5 at the Claymont Court
Agricultural Project, outside of Charles Town, WV. A reservation is
required to attend this event. Call 876-6818 for more information and to
reserve your spot.
