Ever read Alan Watts? He uses it sometimes.

<snipped big long thing about 'languaging'>
Bateson appears to have become a bit semantic (or
pedantic? or how about romantic?), but as far as
I can recall Watts used it in a loose manner. I
use it often, but only in play. What else is
there?
I prefer to ask questions, observe and take notes
rather than spend too much time deciphering
definitions. We don't need a dictionary to show
someone how to plant a tree, we need a shovel. I
bet we could teach a non-english speaker how to
do permaculture if s'he spent a year living with
us, doing nothing but observing as we went about
our daily activities.
