Re: GBlist: Re: Greywater
Craig,
All good points. I don't know of any greywater systems in apartment
buildings. The only formal Code-endorsed configurations I've seen (and
I may very well not be up-to-date on this) comes from CA and is aimed at
collection of greywater in private homes for irrigation uses. Edward's
point about the basic design issue is well taken.
I used the example of rainwater collection because it's simpler. There
is a formal organization around rainwater collection in Japan and the
forum at the WaterWiser site has recently included a couple of messages
from people planning meetings on the subject.
A web search on greywater is useful, and fun, as Edward noted. One of
things I discovered was a page with a list of alternative rock band
names, including "Greywater." You'll also find a number of companies
with interesting and simple products aimed at sustainable homes.
You should also take a look at the WaterWiser web page:
http://www.waterwiser.org
which has a searchable bibliography.
