For the past seven years, Mark has been helping organizations utilize the power

- [Client] Bayer Crop Science:
- Maintained, managed and expanded data warehouse used to track product and sales information
through the use of database technology and World Wide Web delivery mechanisms.
This Intranet system was used by account managers, salespeople, and logistics
personnel to maintain and predict inventory needs. Worked with a team of five
developers to develop a work order scheduling system that allowed shift managers
to track work crews and their progress. Existing components were integrated with
new database and code modules to create a more complete enterprise system. These
applications were built using Oracle 9iAS, Discoverer reports, portlets, Java
Servlets, JSP pages, and PL/SQL stored procedures and functions.
- [Client] TaskPoint:
- Maintained and managed an extensive database of products that were sold via the World Wide
Web for this E-Business company. The database was updated daily by a data entry
team and the data processed to the production system nightly. Expanded and maintained
this E-Commerce Web site to facilitate changes to the business structure. These
applications were build using Oracle database technology, Cold Fusion Web Application
Server, and Spectra Content Management Server.

Project Manager for a large-scale project to develop, execute and deploy a new Web presence for Kenan-Flagler Business School. Managed a team of four developers through the process of creating a consistent look and feel for the different departments within the school.
Developed systems according to defined standards with the goal of creating reusable components.
Acted as a database architect to develop applications for faculty and administration on a day to day basis. Applications included an online course evaluation system and a system for peer review.
Advised and was consulted on strategic directions and technology alternatives for future development initiatives.
This application development was done with the SQL Server 7 Database, Cold Fusion Application Server, and Active Server Pages.

- Collaborated with faculty to assess their technology needs and identify tools and applications that would help them to achieve their teaching goals.
Tested and implemented new technologies for distributed learning and worked to train the faculty in the appropriate use of the new applications. Created applications to be used by the staff in the collection of faculty information.
This work was done using PHP application language, MySQL Database, Cold Fusion Application Server, BlackBoard Online Education System, Photoshop, and Real Streaming Technologies.

Researched and implemented new streaming video and audio solutions via the Internet at a time when the World Wide Web was a little known and rarely used method of information exchange.
Designed and maintained Web pages and archives for this grant-funded research organization. Some of the most exciting research came from the use of streaming audio instruction to augment traditional web page presentations. The combination proved a useful tool in online education while requiring limited bandwidth.
Technologies used were Real Streaming Technologies, Photoshop, PHP application language, and the MySQL Database.
