Each new phase of revolution occurred simultaneously with the appearance of a new technological device; products that appeared between the years 1910 and 1970 include film, radio, television, and teaching machines. A common set of myths and symbols attended the appearance of each of these new products. The myths and symbols of the technological revolution reveal a cyclical pattern in the history of technology in higher education. |
