The study used framing as created by Goffman and applied by media studies for its theoretical framework. The study sought to examine how the public's framing of issues around local library campaigns reflected the public's perception and opinion of the library. The study surveyed examined the frames that emerged in editorial newspapers texts written in conjunction with local library funding campaign between 2005-2010. To study the framing process in the editorial newspaper texts, constructionist discourse analysis was used as the study's methodology. |
