GNOME Documentation Project (GDP)

    Contact: docs@gnome.org
    Homepage: http://www.gnome.org/gdp

GNOME stands for "GNU Network Object Model Environment". The GNOME project intends to build a complete, user-friendly desktop based entirely on free software. GNOME is part of the GNU project, and it is free software compliant with the Open Source definition. The desktop will consist of small utilities and larger applications which share a consistent look and feel. GNOME uses GTK+ as the GUI toolkit for all GNOME-compliant applications.

    Related site: http://developer.gnome.org

The developer.gnome.org site is for those who develop, or are interested in developing GNOME and applications for GNOME. The site contains information about current GNOME projects, developer news, documentation, information on how to get involved, and much more.

The GNOME project needs API reference documentation "in a VERY big way". The Users Guide could also use some help, and they could also use more programming guides and tutorials.
