I'm not sure that what Ginger noted on later blooming in Gates County is the
North so much as the East.
We have a place in Little Washington as well as Garner. We normally see
things pop out earlier in Beaufort County -- but not this year. Things seem
much ahead of schedule here in the piedmont. Could it e the nor'easters
we've seen several times this winter pulling in more northern air than
usual?
Ginger is right-- any visit to Merchant's Millpond without ticks, skeeters,
and yellowflies makes cold weather seem worth it.
