Hi y'all,
First hummer chase in the yard today (2 males.) First female observed
this afternoon. I wasn't the only one that noticed her, either. First
courtship display late this afternoon; her hovering about 18" from the
ground in front of a shrub, him doing the full-on climb-and-dive arc. I'm
afraid the little guy struck out this at-bat, but it was pretty cool
watching him take his swings.
Maybe little Ms. Ruby-throat will be in a better mood tomorrow.
Cheers,
Gary
