I observed, what appeared to be, two Tree swallows copulating on the wing
Saturday. They "joined" at a very high altitude and fluttered and twirled
all the way down to tree top level. I have observed this behavior with
White-throated swifts but this is a first for Tree swallows. Anyone else
observed this behavior? I couldn't find any reference to it in the
literature.
