Greetings:
Birded the Alligator Refuge Sunday morning and had 12 species of warblers
including Swainson's, Black-throated Green and Worm-eating Warbler. Also had
an American Bittern, and my first Acadian Flycatcher of the season.
On Roanoke Island, two Bald Eagles flew over on Saturday and a female
Canvasback was still around, out by he NC Aquarium. I haven't determined
whether she is injured or just late in leaving.
Today, my first Orchard Orioles of the season showed up as well as a
BLUE-WINGED WARBLER which sang all morning in the Elizabethan Gardens!
Blue-wings, while not that rare in fall, are almost never seen around here
in the spring.
Good birding!
