HI . . .
Even though the soil at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural
History was depleted by a century of farming, the numbers of native
wildflowers is now increasing.
"This Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of 15-21 July describes one
of the new arrivals--Swamp Milkweed. To read the current photoessay,
go to http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek010715.html. This is a
direct link, but please feel free to browse the rest of the Web site.
:-)
As always, there's an update with photos of birds banded and/or
recaptured this week, including a diagnostic photo for fledgling
Eastern Towhees.
Happy Nature Watching,
BILL
