Hilton Pond 08/08/01 (Chimney Swifts)

HI . . .

Last week we published our on-line photo essay about the cussing
abilities of Yellow-breasted Chats. This week we had another
experience with cursing birds when a couple of young Chimney Swifts
fell into our fireplace.

Not only can you read about this experience, but we've also added our
first ever QuickTime movie to the Web site for Hilton pond Center for
Piedmont Natural History--so you can see AND hear the young swifts
cussing up a storm. :-)

Just visit http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek010808.html for "This
Week at Hilton Pond" for the week of 8-15 August 2001. (This is a
direct link but please feel free to browse the rest of the Web site.)

As usual, there are seven-day totals for banded and recaptured birds,
including ten different species banded for the week.

Happy Nature Watching,

BILL
