My husband, Lee and I birded Myrtle Beach State Park for a few hours
yesterday morning. The weather was chilly, windy and clear and
beautiful. We birded the pond and the nature trail.
We sighted 38 species- the notables are included here:
Pair of Wood Ducks
Solitary Sandpiper
Red Shouldered Hawk
2 Osprey
Heard Great Horned Owls
Belted Kingfisher
Pileated Woodpecker
Red-headed Woodpecker
2 Great Crested Flycatchers
Marsh Wren
4 Red-eyed Vireos
2 Yellow-throated Vireos
3 White-eyed Vireos
4 Black and White Warblers
4 Redstarts
Hooded Warbler- Beautiful Look!
At least 35! Common Yellowthroats- they were everywhere!
Northern Waterthrush
It was an enjoyable morning!
