Grandmother Mountain

The Blue Ridge Parkway is working to determine recreational impacts on birds and
other critters at Grandmother Mountain. In 1999 the Parkway was given about 200
acres on the north, west and southwest sides of Grandmother Mountain and we have
been working on inventories of the biological resources there. The land is
pretty much all the land between the top of the mountain and the Parkway. This
would be between Mileposts 306 and 307.

I am looking for any information on birds observed on this property, with a
special emphasis on birds that breed here. There have been reports of Magnolia
Warblers at Beacon Heights a couple miles away. Does anyone know of any
breeding on Grandmother?

If you have any reports from nearby locations I'd like to receive those as well.
Please be sure to include a location if it is not from Grandmother Mountain
itself.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Bob
