Hilton Pond 10/01/01 (Striate Bird's-nest)

HI . . .

We're being a little devious this week in saying that--even though
it's October--we just found an active colony of bird's-nests at
Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History.

To figure out what we mean, please visit "This Week at Hilton Pond"
for the week of 1-7 October 2001 at
http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek011001.html . This is a direct
link, but feel free to browse the rest of the Web site. :-)

As usual, there are weekly totals for banded and recaptured birds,
including a mug shots of a young male Palm Warbler and a House Wren,
plus killer comparison photos of male and female Hooded Warblers.

Peace, and Happy Nature Watching,

BILL
