Francis Marion NF - S. Tibwin Trail 11/4/01

I had a desire to hit the woods this morning, so wound up on the S. Tibwin
Trail. I saw one very interesting bird. The first thing I saw was a snow
white head. I'm immediately thinking Bunting, but I don't think I can turn
it into one. There were distinctive yellow supercilliums, dark bill, and the
rest was reminiscent of Yellow-throated Sparrow, although somewhat lighter.
There were Yellow-throateds in the same area, so assume that it was a
leucistic version. I don't understand though why it would lose all of the
head color except the yellow. Other birds listed are below. The wetlands
area is posted now, so much of the trail is closed.
