Snowy Owl Sunday Morning Update

Carolinabirders,

Just received a call from Russ and Patricia Tyndall. They have just seen
the Snowy Owl at about 7:00 a.m. this morning (Sunday). The owl has moved
south from its location yesterday. To see it you will need to drive as far
as possible south of Fort Fisher on the beach, park at the Bald Head sign,
and continue to walk south. Patricia says that when viewing the owl at long
distance to the south, they were barely able to see their parked vehicle
back toward the north. It sounds to me like the bird must be perhaps a mile
or more south of the Bald Head sign. It still has perhaps six miles
distance left that it could move south before reaching the southern tip of
Bald Head Island. Of course, as John Fussell suggested earlier, it could
turn around and fly north.
