Lori and I were in southern Catawba County this morning and we went by the
Marshall Steam Plant fishing access on Lake Norman. We found that this is a
VERY large vulture roosting site. There were over 300 vultures present. At
least 85% were Black Vultures and the rest Turkey Vultures. They were on
the ground, in the trees, on the power towers, on a pier, and on the roof of
a marina. It was an awesome sight.
