Subject: Rufous Hummingbird in Mt. Pleasant, SC

The rufous hummingbird that Bob Chinn referred to in an earlier message
in Mt. Pleasant, SC is still being seen. It appears to be a male,
probably sub-adult. It shows quite a bit of rufous all over and visits
the feeder regularly. It also is quite vocal and perches in nearby
trees, giving great opportunities for viewing at the feeder and perched
in the nearby trees. The hummingbird is located in a gated community,
and the residents do welcome visitors, but you must call before going.
Call Doris Bernard, (843)884-6897, if you wish to see the bird. She
said that the bird is generally not seen after 4pm when the sun begins
to set and shades the back porch and wooded area at the rear of the
house.
