Draper WMA

Hi folks,
I've been checking out Draper WMA near Brattonsville in York Co. the last
two weeks. It is a very birdy area by far the best I've found in this
increasingly suburbanized county. It has a good mix of shurbs, woods and
fields. The woods have many dead trees resulting in lots of woodpeckers.
Today I found a beautiful male Purple Finch and Red-breasted Nuthatch,
birds I have not yet seen this year. Last week a Northern Harrier turned
up the only place in the county I've ever seen it. On both occasions I've
heard owls. I'm looking forward to the spring to see what else turns up
here. Dave Collopy
